Welcome to Sustainable Actions Afrika, a non-profit, apolitical, non-denominational, and non-governmental organization committed to promoting sustainable development in Africa. Our focus areas include Education for Sustainable Development, the Food-Energy-Water Nexus, and the promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), as well as promoting local and community-based sustainable actions. We’re dedicated to educating, engaging, and empowering communities in Africa to build a more just, equitable, and sustainable future.

Vision: To empower Africans with the tools of education, science, and technology, so they can share their knowledge and expertise to build a more just, equitable, and sustainable future for all.
Mission: Sustainable Actions Afrika seeks to educate, engage and empower communities in Africa to overcome challenges related to education, food security, access to energy and water, and the use of science and technology to promote economic development.
Our Approach:
- Glocal: Sustainable Actions Afrika recognizes the importance of thinking globally and acting locally. We work to understand and address local issues within the broader context of global sustainability challenges, taking into account local cultures, traditions, and practices to ensure that their interventions are contextually relevant and impactful.
- Holistic: Sustainable development requires a holistic approach that takes into account the complex interrelationships between social, economic, and environmental factors. Sustainable Actions Afrika recognizes this and we works to integrate these factors in our programs and interventions, taking a systems thinking approach to ensure that they address the root causes of issues and create lasting change.
- Integrated: Sustainable development challenges are interconnected and cannot be addressed in isolation. We integrate our programs and interventions across different sectors and stakeholders, working in partnership with governments, communities, and other organizations to create synergies and maximize impact.
Our Work
Education for Sustainable Development:
We develop and deliver educational programs and materials to help communities understand the principles of sustainable development and how to apply them in daily life.
Food-Energy-Water Nexus:
We promote the sustainable management and use of natural resources—such as water, land, and energy—while addressing food security and related issues.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM):
We support the development of innovative, sustainable technologies and solutions in areas like renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture. By leveraging the arts and humanities, we inspire creativity and foster new ideas.
Local and Community-Based Sustainable Actions:
We work closely with local communities to identify and promote sustainable practices and initiatives tailored to their specific needs and contexts, such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and waste management.
Through our programs and initiatives, we aim to empower communities with the required skills, competencies, and tools across Africa to build a more just, equitable, and sustainable future.
