ABOUT US

Sustainable Actions Afrika (SAAF) is a youth-led, apolitical, and non-denominational non-governmental organization founded in 2018 to address the pressing challenges of educational inequality, energy poverty, access to WASH and limited access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) opportunities among under-resourced communities.

Sustainable Actions Afrika was legally registered in 2023 after four years of navigating disruptions caused by the Anglophone crisis in the North West Region of Cameroon. Registration Number: No.817/G.37/C84/VOL I/SAAJP/A3 -I- Taxpayer Number: M112317500062K

SAAF is led by a committed team of young professionals in STEM fields, educators, and volunteers with a deep passion for community empowerment and sustainable development. Our internal structure includes a Board of Directors providing oversight, an Executive Director who leads the strategic vision, and a Programs Manager who coordinates all projects and manages key elements such as cost, schedule, quality, and stakeholder engagement.

We work with volunteers, interns, local , and international partners to implement context-responsive solutions that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goals 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 13 (Climate Action).

Glocalized

Sustainable Actions Afrika recognizes the importance of thinking globally and acting locally. We work to understand and address local issues within the broader context of global sustainability challenges, taking into account local cultures, traditions, and practices to ensure that their interventions are contextually relevant and impactful.

Holistic

Sustainable development requires a holistic approach that takes into account the complex interrelationships between social, economic, and environmental factors. Sustainable Actions Afrika recognizes this and we works to integrate these factors in our programs and interventions, taking a systems thinking approach to ensure that they address the root causes of issues and create lasting change.

Integrated

Sustainable development challenges are interconnected and cannot be addressed in isolation. We integrate our programs and interventions across different sectors and stakeholders, working in partnership with governments, communities, and other organizations to create synergies and maximize impact.
