SHE IS SOLAR
The She is Solar project aimed to address energy illiteracy, poverty, and gender inequality by providing energy literacy and practical production of solar chargers from e-waste components for under-resourced young girls and women in Bamenda, Cameroon. Through a series of workshops, participants gained essential knowledge in energy literacy and an understanding of energy generation, consumption, and conservation, particularly focusing on solar energy. Additionally, they received hands-on training in designing and assembling solar chargers from recycled electronic waste for lamps, phones, and other devices, empowering them to harness clean energy solutions for their communities.
Scrabble Scholars
An educational initiative designed to ignite a passion for STEM and literacy among students by blending reading circles with competitive Scrabble play. Through targeted STEM reading, engaging discussions, and strategic word games, participants enhance their STEM literacy/vocabulary, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This fosters a love for reading by equally strengthening cognitive abilities essential for success in STEM fields.
Her Solar Charger
An innovative initiative that empowers young girls and women by training them to transform electronic waste into functional solar chargers. This program addresses energy poverty by providing sustainable energy solutions to underserved communities. Participants gain practical skills in solar technology, promoting environmental sustainability and fostering economic empowerment.
Pathfinders STEM Hub
A dynamic hub aimed at nurturing vulnerable and under-resourced children and youths in STEM courses and career. This is the first of its kind after-school and weekend STEM hub in Bamenda-Cameroon. It comprises of a community STEM library, a makerspace and a mind sport platform. Bridging the gab between theory and real live practice through hands-on immersive learning projects.
Pathfinders Minds Sports Academy
Empowering under-resourced children and youths through strategic games that enhance cognitive, emotional, and social development. The academy uses mind sports such as Chess, Scrabble, and Mental Math to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, concentration, and ethical decision-making among participants. It provides a safe and inclusive environment where learners, especially from under-resourced and crisis-affected communities, can develop 21st-century skills, improve academic performance, and build confidence through fun and intellectually stimulating activities.
